Tony Bennett, founder of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, a NYC public arts high school in Queens, hosted an event with actor Alec Baldwin who spoke to the Film and Drama students from the high school. Baldwin encouraged the students to not concern themselves with “making it in the business,” but “discovering what in the arts makes them happy when they do it.” After the event, Tony and Alec sat down for an interview with Access Hollywood which will air on Monday, Jan 23rd - which also happens to mark the 50th Anniversary of Tony’s signature song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”
The sessions, filmed to capture the magic of these performers singing with the master of the Great American Songbook, airs on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 9 PM on PBS; check local listings.
John Mayer and other artists will be joining Tony Bennett live in the studio to celebrate his 85th birthday this year with a new CD, “Tony Bennett: Duets II,” which will be released on September 20th.
